We Built a Dhivehi Wordle

The Fanvaiy team decided to take a short break from shipping features on our blogging platform and build something purely for fun: Fanvaiy Wordle, a daily Dhivehi word guessing game.

What is it?

If you've ever played the original Wordle, you already know the rules. You get six attempts to guess a hidden word. After each guess, the tiles change color to show how close you are:

• 🟩 Green — Right letter, right spot

• 🟨 Yellow — Right letter, wrong spot

• ⬜ Grey — Letter isn't in the word

The twist? Everything is in Thaana script. The words, the keyboard, the entire experience — it's all in Dhivehi.

Every day there's a new word. A fresh challenge. A reason to flex your Dhivehi vocabulary.

Why we built it

At Fanvaiy, we're building a collaborative blogging platform for Dhivehi writers. Our entire mission is about empowering content creation in our language. So building a fun little word game in Dhivehi felt like a natural fit.

Plus, we just wanted to see if we could pull it off — and we did.

The competitive side

We didn't stop at just the game. There's a leaderboard where you can see how you stack up against other players. It tracks your average attempts, total games played, win rate, and best score.
